Primary Camshaft Drive Chain Guide ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the oil pump.
2. Remove the oil outlet tube.
3. Remove the primary timing chain tensioner.
4. Remove the two bolts attaching the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1) to the engine block.
5. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1).
6. Clean and inspect the camshaft timing drive components.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1) and retaining bolts.
^ Tighten the primary camshaft drive chain guide bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the primary timing chain tensioner.
3. Install the oil outlet tube.
^ Tighten the oil outlet tube bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
4. Install the oil pump.
