Engine Front Cover Installation

^ Tools Required
- J 28410 Gasket Remover (Aluminum Components)





1. Using the J 28410 remove any cured excess RTV sealant at the split line of the upper and lower crankcase (1).
2. Place a small amount of fresh RTV sealant GM P/N 12348521, (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent at the split line of the upper and lower crankcases (1).





3. Place the engine front cover gasket over the crankcase dowel pins.
4. Place the engine front cover in position on the crankcase.
5. Install the engine front cover bolts.





6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the engine front cover bolts in the sequence shown.
Tighten the engine front cover bolts in the proper sequence to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
