Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Replacement Bank 2 Sensor 1



HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REPLACEMENT BANK 2 SENSOR 1

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

NOTE:
- Refer to Oxygen Sensor Notice in Service Precautions.
- Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Resistance Learn Reset Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT:
- Remove oxygen sensors (O2S) with the engine temperature above 48°C (120°F). Otherwise the O2S may be difficult to remove.
- A special anti-seize compound is used on the oxygen sensor threads. New service sensors should already have the compound applied to the threads. Coat the threads of a reused sensor with anti-seize compound P/N 5613695 or equivalent.




1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the air deflector.
3. Disconnect the front O2S electrical connector.
4. Remove the front O2S from the front exhaust manifold.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the front O2S in the front exhaust manifold.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

2. Connect the front O2S electrical connector.
3. Install the air deflector.
4. Lower the vehicle and perform a code clear.
