Blower Motor Control Processor Replacement



BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL PROCESSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment.
2. Remove the right sound insulator.
3. Remove the dash integration module (DIM) from the bracket.
4. Remove the rear 2 DIM bracket screws.
5. Reposition the DIM bracket to gain access to the recirculation actuator.




6. Remove the blower motor control processor retaining screw.

IMPORTANT: Note the routing location of the blower motor and the blower motor speed control module wiring.

Improper wire routing will cause blower motor and blower motor speed control module wires to be pinched or chaffed by the DIM bracket and cause wiring failure.

7. Remove the electrical connector (2) from the blower motor control module (1).




8. Remove the electrical connection from the blower motor.
9. Remove the blower motor control processor (1) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the blower motor control processor (1) to the lower mounting location.The processor once in position should seat flat against the HVAC module.
2. Route and reconnect the electrical connectors to the blower control processor (1) and the blower motor (2).




3. Install the blower motor control processor retaining screw.

Tighten the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Position the DIM bracket to the original position.
5. Install the rear 2 DIM bracket retaining screws.
6. Install the DIM into the bracket.
7. Install the right sound insulator.
8. Install the I/P compartment.
