This bulletin is being revised to update the Parts Information and include additional information about low battery voltage. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-52-008. (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:
^ "NO FOBS DETECTED" message displayed on Driver Information Center (DIC) and no crank/start unless fob is placed in the center console's fob/transmitter pocket.
^ Fob does NOT lock/unlock doors/trunk when button(s) is depressed.
Cause
This condition may be caused by low vehicle battery voltage. If the battery is not sufficiently charged (above 10 volts), the system will have difficulty detecting the fob. In this case, the RCDLR does not need to be replaced. Charge or replace the battery to eliminate this condition.
Alternately, this condition may be due to the signal from the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) fob/transmitter not being properly detected by the Remote Control Door Lock and Theft Deterrent Receiver Assembly (RCDLR/Easy Key Module).
Correction
Replace the existing RCDLR module with P/N 15779423. Refer to the replacement procedures in this bulletin. In rare cases, the RF signal from an interfering device (radio tower, garage door opener, etc.) may be so strong that the center console's fob/transmitter pocket may still have to be used.
