Upper Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the cross car brace, if necessary.
2. Remove the oil fill cap.
3. Disengage the cover/shield from the ball studs by pulling up firmly on the rear and front of the engine cover.
4. Remove the engine cover/sight shield.
5. Remove the hood seal from the passenger side air inlet screen panel.
6. Remove the air inlet screen panel bolts (1).
7. Remove the passenger side air inlet screen panel (3).
8. Remove the air inlet housing panel bolt (3) and nuts (2).
9. Remove the air inlet housing panel (1).
10. Remove the nut from the rear stud.
11. Remove the cover from the upper studs.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the cover to the upper studs.
2. Install the cover to the rear stud.
3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the cover nut.
^ Tighten the nut to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
4. Position the slots in the air inlet housing panel (1) over the studs in the front of dash.
5. Instal the air inlet housing panel bolt (3) and nuts (2).
^ Tighten the bolt/nuts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Push the passenger side air inlet screen panel (3) towards the rear of the vehicle until the clips engage the windshield.
7. Align the center seam of the passenger side panel to the driver side panel.
8. Install the cowl vent screen bolts (1).
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
9. Install the hood seal to the panel.
10. Position the engine cover/sight shield over the intake manifold so the grommets are aligned with the ball studs.
11. Press the engine cover/sight shield down firmly near the ball studs in order to install the engine cover/sight shield.
12. Install the oil fill cap.
13. Install the cross car brace, if necessary.
