Condenser Replacement (CZ3)
CONDENSER REPLACEMENT (CZ3)
TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the radiator support brackets.
3. Remove the upper condenser mounting bolts.
4. Remove the auxiliary cooling fan.
5. Remove the liquid line bolt (1) at the condenser
6. Pull the line straight out to protect the O-ring.
7. Disconnect the discharge hose (1) at the condenser.
8. Pull the line straight out to protect the O-ring.
9. Remove the condenser.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Add refrigerant oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.
2. Install the condenser.
3. Install the auxiliary cooling fan.
4. Lube O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.
5. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.
6. Install the discharge hose bolt (1).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).
7. Lube O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.
8. Connect the liquid line to the condenser.
9. Connect the liquid line bolt (1) to the condenser.
Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).
10. Install the air deflector.
11. Install the upper condenser bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N.m (35 lb in).
12. Install the radiator support brackets.
13. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
14. Leak test all fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A.
