Correct Replacement Bulb for High Beam Headlamp

This bulletin is being issued to inform dealers which bulb to use when servicing the high beam headlamp bulb on the 2005-2006 Cadillac STS.

Currently, GM Parts Catalogs indicate to use P/N 09441732 (Sylvania Trade No. 9005). Some of these Sylvania bulbs (2) may have been produced without ribs on the base of the bulb. These ribs are designed to tightly lock the bulb in place into headlamp housing. Without these ribs, the bulb will be loose and may rattle.

When ordering a replacement bulb, please use P/N 01999437 (Phillips Trade No. 9005LL). The Phillips bulb (1) have the ribs to ensure a correct fit to the headlamp housing.
