Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement


Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (LH2)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front air deflector.
2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
3. Remove the air cleaner intake duct.
4. Loosen the air cleaner assembly front half retaining screws.
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly front half.





6. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting from the power steering pump.
7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





8. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to the frame mounting bolts.





9. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.





10. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear.
11. Remove the power steering hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the power steering hose to the vehicle.





2. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to power steering gear retaining bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 23 Nm (17 inch lbs.).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to frame mounting bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).





4. Install the front air deflector.
5. Lower the vehicle.





6. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to the power steering pump.
Tighten the fitting to 38 Nm (28 inch lbs.)
7. Install the power steering inlet hose quick connect to fitting.
8. Install the air cleaner assembly front half.
Tighten the screws to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
9. Install the air cleaner intake duct.
10. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
11. Bleed the power steering system.
