Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose/Pipe Replacement

Surge Tank Hose/Pipe Replacement - Inlet (LP1, LY7)

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure




1. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose (2) from the surge tank (1).




2. Remove the inlet hose from the clips on the air cleaner housing.
3. Remove the inlet hose tee from the power steering fluid reservoir.




4. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator.
5. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the surge tank inlet hose from the throttle body assembly.
6. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the throttle body assembly.
2. Position J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator.




3. Install the inlet hose tee to the power steering fluid reservoir.
4. Install the inlet hose to the clips on the air cleaner housing.




5. Route the surge tank inlet hose under the hood assist rod support.
6. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to connect the surge tank inlet hose (2) to the surge tank (1).
