Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Allow sufficient time for the engine to cool before removing the ECT sensor. A hot engine may cause an excessive coolant loss or a personal injury.
1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Remove the shielding from around the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
3. Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the ECT sensor.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the ECT sensor.
Tighten the sensor to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
2. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the shielding around the ECT sensor.
4. Inspect and fill the cooling system as necessary.
