Extension Housing Disassemble

Tools Required

* J 26941 Bearing Race Remover
* J 23907 Slide Hammer




1. Remove the reverse idler shaft bracket bolts.




2. Remove the reverse idler gear, the roller bearing, and the reverse idler shaft.




3. Remove the countershaft extension bearing race, the shim, and the funnel.




4. Remove the reverse rail bushing.




5. Remove the output shaft seal (some models). Pry out the seal with a suitable tool.




6. Remove the mainshaft bearing race retainer ring.

Important: Do not replace the bearing race unless inspection shows bearing race damage.

7. Remove the mainshaft bearing race using J 26941 and J 23907.
