SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING ZONE 9
DISABLING PROCEDURE
1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Remove the rear seat.
5. Locate the right rear fuse center (1) under the rear seat. Remove the fuse center top cover.
6. Locate and remove the SIR fuse from the right rear fuse center.
IMPORTANT: With the SIR fuse removed and the ignition switch in the ON position, the AIR BAG warning indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
7. Remove both connector position assurance (CPA) from the RF/passenger side impact module and seat belt pretensioner yellow connector (1) located under the front of passenger seat.
8. Disconnect the RF side impact module and pretensioner yellow connector (1) from the vehicle harness yellow connector.
ENABLING PROCEDURE
1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
2. Connect the RF side impact module and pretensioner yellow connector (1) to the vehicle harness yellow connector.
3. Install both CPA locks to the RF side impact module and pretensioner yellow connector (1).
4. Install the SIR fuse into the right rear fuse center (1).
5. Install the right rear fuse center cover.
6. Install the rear seat.
7. Use caution while reaching in and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.The AIR BAG indicator will flash then turn OFF.
8. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information.
