Condenser Replacement (LS2)

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the radiator support brackets.
3. Remove the air deflector.
4. Remove the lower condenser bolts.
5. Remove the discharge hose bolt (1).
6. Remove the discharge hose.
7. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
8. Remove the condenser tube bolt (1).
9. Remove the condenser tube.
10. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
11. Remove the upper condenser mounting bolts (1).
12. Remove the condenser.
Installation Procedure
1. Add refrigerant oil to the condenser. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.
2. Install the condenser.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
3. Install the upper condenser mounting bolts (1).
Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N.m (35 lb in).
4. Lubricate the O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing the hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.
5. Connect the condenser tube to the condenser.
6. Install the condenser tube bolt (1).
Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).
7. Lube the O-ring with refrigerant oil before installing hose. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.
8. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.
9. Connect the discharge hose bolt (1) to the condenser.
Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).
10. Ensure that side seals are not damaged and in position around pipes.
11. Install the lower condenser mounting bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 3.9 N.m (35 lb in).
12. Install the air deflector.
13. Install the upper radiator supports.
14. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
15. Leak test all fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A.
