Battery Negative Cable Replacement (LS2)
Removal Procedure
Important:
* Always use replacement cables that are of the same type, diameter and length of the cables that you are replacing.
* Always route the replacement cable the same way as the original cable.
1. Remove the engine sight shield.
2. Remove the battery and battery tray.
3. Disconnect the cable retaining clip from the stud on the shock tower.
4. Remove the bolt (1) securing the battery negative cable to the side rail.
5. Disconnect the instrument panel harness connector (3) from the battery negative cable.
6. Remove the bolt (1) securing the battery negative cable to the engine block.
7. Remove the battery negative cable.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the battery negative cable to the engine.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
2. Install the bolt (1) securing the battery negative cable to the engine block.
Tighten the battery negative cable to engine block bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Connect the instrument panel harness connector (3) to the battery negative cable.
4. Install the bolt (1) securing the battery negative cable to the side rail.
Tighten the battery negative cable to side rail bolt to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).
5. Connect the cable retaining clip to the stud on the shock tower.
6. Install the battery tray and battery.
7. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
