Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the steering wheel.
2. Remove the front seats.
3. Remove the center floor console.
4. Remove the defroster grille.
5. Remove the front I/P speakers.
6. Remove the instrument panel center trim.
7. Remove the radio.
8. Remove the ashtray/storage bin.
9. Remove the HVAC control module.
10. Remove the left and right instrument panel insulator panels.
11. Remove the knee bolster bracket.
12. Remove the instrument cluster.
13. Remove the instrument panel storage compartment.
14. Remove the screws securing the instrument panel retainer to the carrier.
Important: Note the instrument panel wire harness routing.
15. Remove the screws securing the passenger side of the instrument panel retainer.
Two of the screws on the side are concealed by the retainer.
16. Remove the instrument panel retainer.
Installation Procedure
1. Locate the instrument panel retainer to the carrier.
2. Route the instrument panel wire harness in to the previous noted location.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
3. Install the screws securing the passenger side of the instrument panel retainer.
Tighten the screws to 9 N.m (18 lb in).
4. Install the screws securing the instrument panel to the carrier.
Tighten the screws to 9 N.m (18 lb in).
5. Install the instrument panel storage compartment.
6. Install the instrument cluster.
7. Install the knee bolster bracket.
8. Install the left and right instrument panel insulator panels.
9. Install the HVAC control module.
10. Install the ashtray/storage bin.
11. Install the radio.
12. Install the instrument center trim.
13. Install the defroster grille.
14. Install the center floor console.
15. Install the front seats.
16. Install the steering wheel.
