Park Brake Backing Plate Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution (Brake Dust Caution) .
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Rear Suspension) .
4. Remove the parking brake actuator. Refer to Parking Brake Actuator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the parking brake cable bracket nuts (1).
6. Remove the parking brake backing plate (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the parking brake backing plate (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
2. Install the parking brake cable bracket nuts (1).
Tighten the nuts to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).
3. Install the parking brake actuator (1). Refer to Parking Brake Actuator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Connect the park brake cable to the actuator.
5. Install the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Rear Suspension) .
6. Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Adjust the park brake. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (Adjustments) .
8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
