TECHNICAL

Bulletin No.: 09-08-64-021

Date: May 27, 2009

Subject: Intermittent Operation of Rear Windows in Cold Temperatures (Replace Rear Side Door Window Regulator)

Models:
2008 Cadillac CTS

Condition

Some customers may comment on intermittent operation of the rear windows. This condition occurs most often in cold ambient temperatures (-7°C (20°F) or colder).

Cause

This condition may be caused by a reset in the window switch, possibly occurring when higher system voltages are seen during cold weather operation in temperatures of -7°C (20°F) or colder.

Correction

Note
New window regulator motors have been updated with a different electro-magnetic interference (EMI) suppression that stabilizes the voltage surge during cold operation.

Replace the rear window regulator with an updated part. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement in SI.
