Sunroof Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution (SIR Caution) .
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair) .




2. Remove the passenger side rear assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement) .




4. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement (Rear Seat Back Replacement) .




5. Remove the rear passenger seat belt retractor (4). Refer to Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement (Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement) .




6. Remove the passenger side rear sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .





Important: Release the passenger side center pillar trim garnish molding upper retainer.


7. Carefully pull the upper center trim panel inward in order to allow clearance for the headliner.
8. Carefully pull the passenger side of the headliner downward in order to release the center and rearward headliner roof magnets.




9. Reach inward between the headliner and roof panel in order to release the sunroof control module clip (3) securing the control module (1) to the sunroof module assembly (2).
10. With the clip (3) depressed, slide the control module toward the sunroof motor/actuator.




11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
12. Remove the sunroof control module from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Connect the electrical connectors to the sunroof control module.




2. Install the sunroof control module tabs (2) into the slots (3) located on the sunroof module assembly.
3. Slide the sunroof control module (1) away from the sunroof motor/actuator until the sunroof control module is fully engaged to the sunroof module assembly.

Important: Test the proper operation of the sunroof functions before installing the interior trim components.


4. Reposition the headliner to the center and rearward roof magnets.




5. Install the passenger side sail panel. Refer to Sail Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .




6. Install the passenger side rear seat belt retractor (4). Refer to Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement (Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement) .




7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement (Rear Seat Back Replacement) .




8. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement) .




9. Align the upper center trim panel retainer, push inward in order to secure.
10. Reposition the passenger rear door opening weatherstrip seal.




11. Install the passenger side rear assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair) .
13. Close the passenger rear door.
