Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the power steering pressure hose bracket retaining nut (2) at the cylinder head.
7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the bracket at the frame.
8. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear.
9. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering pressure hose to the vehicle.
2. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the bracket at the frame.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
3. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear.
Tighten the power steering pressure hose to power steering gear to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
4. Install the power steering pressure hose bracket and retaining nut to the cylinder head.
Tighten power steering pressure hose bracket retaining nut (2) to cylinder head to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
5. Install the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
Tighten the power steering pressure hose to power steering pump to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
9. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair) .
