Wheel Stud Replacement
Tools Required
J 35917 Ball Joint Remover
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) (Service and Repair)Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the wheel stud at the inner most notch in the knuckle on the caliper side of the steering knuckle.
5. Using the J 35917 press out the wheel stud.
Installation Procedure
1. Install a new wheel stud .
2. Using washers and a wheel nut, pull the wheel stud in position.
3. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) (Service and Repair)Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
5. Lower the vehicle.
