Wheel Stud Replacement

Tools Required

J 35917 Ball Joint Remover


Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) (Service and Repair)Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) (Service and Repair) .




4. Using the J 35917 , remove the wheel stud at the inner most notch in the knuckle on the caliper side of the steering knuckle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the new wheel stud .
2. Using washers and a wheel nut, pull the wheel stud in position.
3. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) (Service and Repair)Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) (Service and Repair) .

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

4. Install the brake caliper and bolts. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J55) (Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (J55))Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JL9) (Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (JL9)) .
5. Install the wheel and the tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
6. Lower the vehicle.
