Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (FE1, FE3)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) (Service and Repair)Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) (Service and Repair) .




4. Disconnect the ABS sensor wire connector.




5. Remove the wheel bearing/hub bolts.
6. Remove the wheel bearing/hub and brake shield.



Installation Procedure





1. Clean the lower control arm face and bore before installing the wheel bearing and hub.
2. Install the wheel bearing and hub and brake shield to the lower control arm.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the wheel bearing and hub retaining bolts.

Tighten the wheel bearing and hub retaining bolts to 68 N.m (50 lb ft).

4. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JL9) (Service and Repair)Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J55) (Service and Repair) .




5. Install the ABS sensor wire connector.
6. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair) .
7. Lower the vehicle.
