Intermediate Steering Shaft Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution (SIR Caution) .

Important: The steering column is removed with the upper intermediate shaft attached.


1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement (without JL7) (Steering Column Replacement (without JL7))Steering Column Replacement (with JL7) (Steering Column Replacement (with JL7)) .
2. Remove the intermediate shaft seal from the mod plate.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the intermediate shaft seal to the mod plate, ensuring the seal between the intermediate shaft seal and mod plate.
2. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement (without JL7) (Steering Column Replacement (without JL7))Steering Column Replacement (with JL7) (Steering Column Replacement (with JL7)) .
3. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair) .
