Hood Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Disconnect the underhood lamp electrical connector.
Caution: Refer to Hood Hold-Open Device Caution (Service Precautions) .
4. Remove the hood assist rod from the hood side with the aid of an assistant. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement (Service and Repair) .




5. Remove the hood bolts (1) securing the upper hood hinge to the hood (2) with the aid of an assistant.
6. Remove the hood (2) from the vehicle, with the aid of an assistant.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hood (2) to the vehicle with the aid of an assistant.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the hood bolts (1) securing the upper hood hinge to the hood (2).

Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

3. Install the hood assist rod to the hood side. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Connect the underhood lamp connector.
5. Install the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Close the hood.
