Folding Top Storage Compartment Panel Seal Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
3. Locate the hydraulic pump beneath the carpet in the storage compartment on the driver side of the trunk.




4. Turn the hydraulic pump bypass valve (1) counterclockwise the valve stops.




5. Pull the over-center links (1) down to unlock the storage compartment panel.




6. Pull the panel rearward.
7. Grasp the compartment panel seal.
8. Pull up on the weatherstrip to release the weatherstrip from the compartment panel flange.
9. Remove the weatherstrip from the flange.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the weatherstrip to the compartment panel flange. Start at one end of the panel and work to the other side. Use a rubber mallet to ensure that the weatherstrip is fully engaged to the flange.
2. Push the closeout panel to the down position.




3. Push the over-center links (1) up to lock the storage compartment panel.




4. Turn the hydraulic pump bypass valve (1) clockwise until the valve stops.
5. Remove the protective covering.
6. Install the support and the carpet over the hydraulic pump.
7. Close the rear compartment.
8. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation (Power Folding Top Description and Operation) .
