Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Outer Closeout Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Place the folding top in the up position.
2. Open the rear compartment.




3. Lower the rear compartment partition (1).
4. Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
5. Locate the hydraulic pump beneath the carpet in the storage compartment on the driver side of the trunk.




6. Turn the hydraulic pump bypass valve (1) clockwise until the valve stops.




7. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the closeout panel bolts (1) to the link.
8. Remove the bolts (1) from the closeout panel.
9. Remove the closeout panel.
10. Remove the bolts (3) from the locating pin.
11. Remove the locating pin.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the locating pin to the closeout panel.
2. Apply LOCTITE(TM) Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
3. Install the bolts (3) to the locating pin. Do NOT tighten.
4. Apply LOCTITE(TM) Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
5. Position the compartment closeout panel to the vehicle.
6. Install the bolts (1) to the closeout panel. Do NOT tighten.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

7. Align the closeout panel bolts (1) to the marks on the link.

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).


Important: Align the closeout panels evenly from front to rear. Gaps should exist between the 3 closeout panels.


8. Hold the locating pin into the pin receiver and tighten the locating pin bolts (3).

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

9. Verify that the compartment closeout panel is aligned properly. Refer to Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications (Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications) .
10. Adjust the closeout panel if necessary. Refer to Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Outer Closeout Panel Adjustment (Folding Top Stowage Compartment Front Outer Closeout Panel Adjustment) .




11. Turn the bypass valve (1) clockwise until the valve stops.
12. Remove the protective covering.




13. Raise the rear compartment partition (1).
14. Install the support and the carpet over the hydraulic pump.
15. Close the rear compartment.
16. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
17. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation (Power Folding Top Description and Operation) .
