Rear Parking Brake Anchor Backing Plate Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning (Brake Dust Warning).
1. Block the rear drive wheels.
2. Release the electronic park brake cable tension, if equipped. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Electric Park Brake) (Park Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling).
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Rear Suspension).
6. Remove the parking brake actuator. Refer to Parking Brake Actuator Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the parking brake cable bracket nuts (1).
8. Remove the parking brake backing plate (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the parking brake backing plate (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the parking brake cable bracket nuts (1) and tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).
3. Install the parking brake actuator (1). Refer to Parking Brake Actuator Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Connect the park brake cable to the actuator.
5. Install the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Rear Suspension).
6. Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Adjust the park brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment (Adjustments).
8. Set the electric park brake cable tension. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (Electric Park Brake) (Park Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling)
9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
