Intake Manifold Replacement (DI)

Intake Manifold Replacement (DI) (3.6 L)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (DI) (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the air outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (DI) (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (DI))Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (SFI) (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (SFI)).
3. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (1) from the intake manifold.




4. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (1) from the intake manifold.




5. Disconnect the purge line (1) from the intake manifold.




6. Remove the purge solenoid bolt (1) from the intake manifold and set the purge solenoid aside.




7. Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector (1).




8. Remove the intake manifold bracket bolt (1).
9. Unclip the engine wiring harness from the intake manifold.




10. Remove the intake manifold bolts (1).
11. Remove the intake manifold and gasket.
12. If replacing the intake manifold, disassemble the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Disassemble. Overhaul


Installation Procedure




1. If installing a new intake manifold, assemble the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Assemble. Overhaul
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the NEW intake manifold gasket.

Note: Tighten the intake manifold bolts in a circular pattern starting at the center (long bolts) and moving outward.

3. Install the intake manifold.
4. Install the intake manifold bolts (1) and tighten to23 Nm (17 lb ft).




5. Clip the engine wiring harness from the intake manifold.
6. Install the intake manifold bracket bolt (1) and tighten to23 Nm (17 lb ft).




7. Connect the throttle body electrical connector (1).




8. Install the purge solenoid bolt (1) to the intake manifold.




9. Connect the purge line (1) to the intake manifold.




10. Connect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (1) to the intake manifold.




11. Connect the brake booster vacuum hose (1) from the intake manifold.
12. Install Remove the air outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (DI) (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (DI))Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (SFI) (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (SFI)).
13. Install the fuel pipe shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (DI) (Service and Repair).
