Condition

Some customers may comment on a no engine crank or no start condition due to a discharged battery.

Cause

GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the above condition. The discharged condition of the battery may be from an intermittent electrical parasitic current draw or an inoperative battery.

Correction

Prior to attempting the diagnosis, which calls for a battery replacement or repair, contact a GM Engineer with the service case details. If you do not receive a response from an Engineer within two hours, continue to repair the vehicle. Please provide your phone number, the last 8 digits of the VIN, Midtronics code and a brief history of the repair case. The GM Engineer may want to visit dealerships in the Southeast Michigan region (within 96 km (60 mi) of Milford, Michigan) prior to attempting any repairs.
