Transmission Vent Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LP1/LY7) (Service and Repair)Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LSA) (Service and Repair).
3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.
4. Remove the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) (Service and Repair).
5. Lower the jack to gain access to the top of the transmission.
6. Remove the bolt (1) securing the vent hose to the transmission.
7. Remove the vent hose (2) from the vent pipe.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the vent hose (2) to the vent pipe.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the shift guide plate bolt securing the vent hose (1) to the transmission and tighten the bolt to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
3. Raise the jack.
4. Install the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the jack.
6. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LP1/LY7) (Service and Repair)Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LSA) (Service and Repair).
7. Lower the vehicle.
