Front Door Window Reverses Direction When Closing While Using Express Up Feature (Replace Front Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip)
Models:
2008-2009 Cadillac CTS, CTS-V
Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 90138424
Build Date October 1, 2008
Condition
Some customers may comment that when raising the driver or passenger front door window using the express up feature, the glass may experience a false reversal when nearing the top of the window travel.
Cause
This condition may be caused by interference between the door window frame, the glass run channel and the door glass edge. This interference can cause the anti-pinch feature to reverse the direction of the window.
Correction
1. Replace the front door glass run channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Inner Weatherstrip Replacement in SI.
2. Verify that the express up window functions with the door fully closed. If the concern is not corrected, proceed to the next step.
3. Remove the front side door window inner weatherstrip along the vertical section rearward of the outside rear view mirror (1).
4. Adjust the window channel to a width of 16-16.5 mm (0.63-0.65 in) along the rear edge of the window patch by bending the inboard leg toward the center of the vehicle (1).
5. Reinstall the front side door window inner weatherstrip and verify that the express up feature functions with the door closed.
