J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (Service and Repair).
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair)
3. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement)
4. Reposition the heater hose clamps (1) at the engine using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
5. Remove the heater hoses (2) from the engine.
6. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp (1) at the heater hose using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
7. Remove the surge tank outlet hose (2) from the heater hose.
8. Reposition the heater hose clamps (1) at the heater core using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
9. Remove the heater hoses (2) from the heater core.
10. Remove the heater hose nuts (1).
11. Remove the heater hoses (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the heater hoses (2) to the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the heater hose nuts (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
3. Install the heater hoses (2) from the heater core.
4. Reposition the heater hose clamps (1) at the heater core using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
5. Install the surge tank outlet hose (2) from the heater hose.
6. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp (1) at the heater hose using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
7. Install the heater hoses (2) to the engine.
8. Reposition the heater hose clamps (1) at the engine using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
9. Install the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement)
10. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair)
11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (Service and Repair).
