Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the CKP sensor.
3. Remove the CKP sensor bolt. (cylinder heads shown removed, for clarity).
4. Remove the CKP sensor.
Installation Procedure
1. Lubricate the crankshaft sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CKP sensor.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Install the CKP sensor bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Connect the CKP sensor wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the CKP sensor.
5. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Perform the CKP system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn (Service and Repair).
