Engine Coolant Fan Replacement (LH2 Heavy Duty Cooling) (4.6L)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the upper mounting bolts that secure the auxiliary cooling fan assembly to the condenser.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).




3. Remove the front air deflector retainers.
4. Remove the front air deflector.




5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the auxiliary cooling fan assembly.
6. Remove the lower mounting bolts that secure the auxiliary cooling fan assembly to the condenser.
7. Remove the auxiliary cooling fan assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the auxiliary cooling fan assembly.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the mounting bolts that secure the auxiliary cooling fan assembly to the condenser and tighten to 5.4 Nm (48 lb in).
3. Connect the electrical connectors to the auxiliary cooling fan assembly.




4. Install the front air deflector.
5. Install the front air deflector retainers.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the upper mounting bolts that secure the auxiliary cooling fan assembly to the condenser and tighten to 5.4 Nm (48 lb in).
