Drive Belt Installation




1. Thread the inner drive belt through all the pulleys.
2. Pull the inner drive belt off the power steering pump pulley.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner.

Tighten the air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner bolts in sequence to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

4. Place a wrench on the air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner hex.




5. Compress the air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner in order to feed the inner drive belt around the power steering pump pulley.
6. After the installation, inspect the inner drive belt for the proper routing and the correct alignment.
7. Thread the outer drive belt through all the pulleys except the drive belt tensioner.




8. Insert a 1/2 inch drive extension into the drive belt tensioner.
9. Push down on the drive belt tensioner and feed the outer drive belt around the drive belt tensioner wheel.
10. Ensure the outer drive belt is properly seated in all pulleys.
11. Slowly return the drive belt tensioner back to its original position. This will apply tension to the outer drive belt.
12. After the installation, inspect the outer drive belt for the proper routing and the correct alignment.
