Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the crankshaft sensor retaining bolt.
4. Remove the crankshaft sensor.

Installation Procedure





Note: Inspect the crankshaft sensor O-ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the O-ring.

1. Lubricate the crankshaft sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the crankshaft sensor and the retaining bolt and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
3. Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Operate the engine and inspect crankshaft sensor for engine oil leaks.
6. Perform the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn (Service and Repair).
