Counter Gear Shaft Disassemble

Special Tools
* J 22912-B - Rear Pinion and Axle Bearing Remover
* J 39473 - Mainshaft Bearing Installer
* J 39511 - Split Plate
* J 39547 - Press Adapter

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tremec 6-Speed - Manual Transmission).

Note: Do not replace tapered bearings unless inspection shows bearing damage.




1. Remove the countershaft front bearing, using the J 22912-B - remover (1) with the J 39473 - installer (2) and a hydraulic press.
2. Discard the countershaft front bearing.




3. Remove the countershaft rear bearing, using the J 39511 - plate (2), the J 39547 - adapter (1) and a hydraulic press.
4. Discard the countershaft rear bearing.
