Power Steering Return Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
3. Remove the power steering return hose mounting bracket retaining bolt from the cylinder head.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
6. Remove the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement (Steering Gear).
7. Remove the power steering return hose from wiring harness tie strap.
8. Remove the power steering return hose from the frame brackets.
9. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear.
10. Remove the power steering return hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering return hose to the vehicle.
2. Install the power steering return hose to the frame brackets.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
3. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear.
Tighten the power steering return hose to power steering gear to 34 Nm (25 lb ft).
4. Install the power steering return hose to the wiring harness with a new tie strap.
5. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
6. Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement (Steering Gear).
7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the power steering return hose mounting bracket and retaining bolt to the cylinder head.
Tighten the bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
10. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
11. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
