J 24319-B Steering Linkage Puller

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).

Note: Hold the adjustment link studs with the hex tool.

2. Remove the hex nut from the adjustment link.




3. Using the J 24319-B separate the adjustment link from the lower control arm.




4. Remove the support bracket bolts from the center support (1).
5. Using a block of wood and suitable jack, support the rear support assembly.




6. Remove the exhaust. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (Service and Repair).




7. Remove two rear support assembly bolts and lower the support assembly.




8. Remove the cam lock nut and the bolt.
9. Remove the adjustment link from the support assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the adjustment link to the support assembly.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the cam lock nut, washer and bolt.

Tighten the cam lock nut to 105 Nm (77 lb ft).




3. Install the adjustment link to the control arm hex nut.

Tighten the hex nut to 30 Nm (22 lb ft) then an additional 200 degrees.




4. Raise the support assembly and the exhaust.
5. Install the rear two bolts in the support assembly to the body of the vehicle.

Tighten the support bolts to 207 Nm (153 lb ft).




6. Install the exhaust. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (Service and Repair).




7. Install the center support bracket bolts (1).

Tighten the center support bracket bolts to 128 Nm (94 lb ft).

8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Check the rear toe adjustment. Refer to Rear Toe Adjustment (FE1, FE3) (Rear Toe Adjustment (FE1, FE3))Rear Toe Adjustment (FE7) (Rear Toe Adjustment (FE7)).
