C0895

DTC C0895

Diagnostic Instructions

* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle) prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis (Strategy Based Diagnosis) for an overview of the diagnostic approach.
* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions (Diagnostic Procedure Instructions) provides an overview of each diagnostic category.

DTC Descriptor
DTC C0895
- Device Voltage

Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

Voltage is supplied to the electronic suspension control (ESC) module in the battery positive voltage circuit. The ESC module monitors the supplied voltage to determine if it is within a valid operating range.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The DTC is set when the system voltage is outside the normal range of 9-15.5 V.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

Disable All Functionality

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The DTC is saved as history when the ESC module no longer sees system voltage outside the normal range of 9-15.5 V. The DTC will clear if the fault does not return after 50 consecutive ignition cycles.

Diagnostic Aids

* A low voltage DTC in multiple modules indicates a concern in the charging system.
* DTC C0895 may set when the vehicle is placed on a battery charger, on fast charge, for a long period of time. It may also be set by an intermittent charging system malfunction

Circuit/System Verification

Engine running, measure and record the voltage at the battery terminals. Verify that the battery voltage is 12.6-15.5 V.

If the battery voltage is not within the specified range, refer to Charging System Test (Charging System Test).

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ESC module.
2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 3 Ohms of between the ground circuit terminal 47 and ground.

If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 32 and ground.

If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for an open/high resistance.

4. If all circuits test normal, replace the ESC module.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
