Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (RWD)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JE5, JL9) (Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JE5, JL9))Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J56) (Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J56)).




4. Disconnect the ABS electrical connector.
5. Remove the electrical connector from the splash shield.




6. Remove the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts.
7. Remove the wheel bearing/hub.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the wheel bearing/hub.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts and tighten to 135 Nm (100 lb ft).




3. Install the electrical connector to the splash shield.
4. Connect the ABS electrical connector.
5. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JE5, JL9) (Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JE5, JL9))Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J56) (Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J56)).
6. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
7. Lower the vehicle.
