Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Replacement - Engine to Pipe

J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the charge air cooling system. Refer to Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) (Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static))Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)).
2. Remove the rear intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear)




3. Reposition the charge air cooler hose clamp (1) at engine using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
4. Remove the charge air cooler hose (2) from the engine.




5. Reposition the charge air cooler hose clamp (1) at charge air cooler pipe using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
6. Remove the charge air cooler hose (2) from the charge air cooler pipe.
7. Unclip hose from bracket.
8. Remove the charge air cooler hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the charge air cooler hose to the vehicle.
2. Clip hose from bracket.
3. Install the charge air cooler hose (2) to the charge air cooler pipe.
4. Reposition the charge air cooler hose clamp (1) at the charge air cooler pipe using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.




5. Install the charge air cooler hose (2) to engine.
6. Reposition the charge air cooler hose clamp (1) at engine using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
7. Install the rear intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear)
8. Fill the charge air cooling system. Refer to Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) (Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static))Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)).
