Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (Right Hand Drive)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement).
3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
4. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
5. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose latch plate bolt.
6. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1).
7. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering cooler hose.
8. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose fitting from the steering gear.
9. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Note: Begin all fasteners by hand before finalizing any torques.
1. Position the power steering gear outlet hose (2) to the vehicle.
2. Install the power steering gear outlet hose fitting to the steering gear.
3. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering cooler hose.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
4. Install the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose latch plate bolt and tighten to 22.5 Nm (17 lb ft).
6. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Front Air Deflector Replacement).
8. Install the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) (Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement).
9. Install the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
