Outside Rearview Mirror Glass Replacement

Removal Procedure

Note: Do Not remove the mirror from the vehicle to perform the procedure.

1. Apply several layers of masking tape to the mirror housing upper edge to protect the finish.




2. Position the mirror glass inward at the left lower corner

Note: Do Not apply pressure on the mirror glass when using the suitable tool to release the motor/actuator retaining tabs from the mirror glass.




3. Use a suitable tool (1) insert it between the mirror glass and motor/actuator retaining tab (2).




4. Turn the suitable tool (1) until the mirror glass releases from the motor/actuator retaining tab (2).
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the back of the mirror glass.
6. Place the mirror glass face down on a soft cloth.

Installation Procedure

1. Connect the electrical connectors to the mirror glass.




2. Install the mirror glass as follows:

1. Position the mirror glass on the mirror motor/actuator retaining tabs.
2. Place your hand in the back of the mirror housing.
3. Push inward using the flat part of your hand until the mirror glass locks onto the upper retaining tabs.

3. Inspect the mirror glass for proper operation.
