Forward Clutch Plate Assembly and Low and Reverse Band Removal

J 39053 - Forward and Coast Clutch Assembly Puller

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).




1. Rotate the transmission so that the forward clutch assembly (626-834) faces up.
2. Remove the two 13-mm forward clutch support bolts (5) from the case.





Warning

The forward and coast clutch assembly weighs approximately 50 lbs. Personal injury may result if you drop the assembly.

3. Install the J 39053 - Forward and Coast Clutch Assembly Puller. Using a chain hoist or suitable lifting equipment, secure and lift the forward and coast clutch assembly (626-834) out of the case.




4. Remove the fretting ring (835).
5. Remove the Lo and Reverse band (13).
