Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

The heated washer nozzles have an electrical heating element molded into the nozzle assembly. This prevents washer fluid icing on the nozzles during cold conditions.

Battery voltage is applied to the 10 A MISC IGN FUSE. The 10 A MISC IGN FUSE supplies voltage to the heated washer nozzles. Current passes through the washer nozzle heating element, warming the nozzle.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate heated washer nozzle.
2. Test for less than 10 ohms between the ground circuit terminal B and ground.

If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Ignition ON, rear defogger ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the control circuit terminal A and ground.

If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the heated washer nozzle.
