Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement (V8)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front compartment sight shields. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement .
2. Remove the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front .
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LF1) .
4. Remove the air cleaner resonator outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement .
5. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
6. Siphon the fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
7. Loosen the clamp and remove the reservoir inlet hose from the reservoir.
8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
9. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
10. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield if necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) .




11. Loosen the clamp (3) and remove the reservoir inlet hose (4) from the cooler hose.




12. Remove the 2 fasteners (4 and 6) from the reservoir inlet hose (1).
13. Remove the reservoir inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the reservoir inlet hose (1) in the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the 2 fasteners (4 and 6) to the reservoir inlet hose and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).




3. Install the reservoir inlet hose (4) to the cooler hose with the clamp (3).
4. If you removed the front compartment lower noise shield, install the shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) .
5. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
6. Install the reservoir inlet hose to the reservoir with the clamp.
7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding Service and Repair.
8. Remove the drain pan.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Install the air cleaner resonator outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement
11. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LF1) .
12. Install the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front .
13. Install the front compartment sight shields. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement .
