Special Tools
* BO-24402-A - Glass Sealant Remover (Cold Knife)
* BO-39032 - Stationary Glass Removal Tool
* Use an adhesive that is approved by GM

Removal Procedure
Warning
If a window is cracked but still intact, crisscross the window with masking tape in order to reduce the risk of damage or personal injury.
Note: Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.
1. Open the liftgate.
2. Disconnect the rear window defogger electrical connectors.
3. Remove the rear window wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement (Wagon) Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement (Wagon).
4. Remove the liftgate upper applique. Refer to Liftgate Upper Applique Replacement (Wagon) .
Warning
If broken glass falls into the defroster outlets, it can be blown into the passenger compartment and cause personal injury.
5. Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass:
* Upper dash pad
* Defroster outlets and A/C outlets
* Seats and carpeting

6. Using a utility knife, carefully cut the rear window lace molding (1) in order to access the urethane adhesive bead.
Note: Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window. There are four window locating pins, one in each corner of the window. Use care Not to remove or cut them off when removing the window. If the window locator pins are cut, it will be necessary to tape the window in place.
7. This will allow the urethane adhesive to be separated from the window.
* Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
* The only suitable lubrication is clean water.
* Use BO-24402-A - Glass Sealant Remover (Cold Knife).
* BO-39032 - Stationary Glass Removal Tool , or equivalent in order to remove the window.
8. Remove the rear window (1) with the an assistant from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear window into the opening. Refer to Adhesive Installation of Rear Windows (Wagon) Adhesive Installation of Rear Windows (Wagon)Adhesive Installation of Rear Windows (Sedan/Coupe) Adhesive Installation of Rear Windows (Sedan/Coupe).
2. Connect the rear window defogger electrical connectors.
3. Install the rear window wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement (Wagon) Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement (Wagon).
4. Install the liftgate upper applique. Refer to Liftgate Upper Applique Replacement (Wagon) .
5. Remove the double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.
