Reverse Lockout Solenoid Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon)Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust) Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon).

3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.

4. Remove the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) Service and Repair.

5. Remove the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement Service and Repair.

6. Disconnect the reverse lockout solenoid electrical connector (5).





7. Remove the reverse lockout solenoid.

8. Remove the bolt and the reverse lockout assembly , if necessary.

Installation Procedure





1. If removed, inspect the reverse lockout assembly O-ring. Replace the reverse lockout assembly O-ring if necessary.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the reverse lockout assembly and bolt and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).

3. Install the reverse lockout solenoid.

Tighten the reverse lockout solenoid to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).





4. Connect the reverse lockout solenoid electrical connector (5).

5. Install the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement Service and Repair.

6. Install the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) Service and Repair.

7. Remove the transmission jack.

8. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon)Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust) Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon).

9. Lower the vehicle.
